Crocheted Girl in green outfit with hood

>> Monday, January 23, 2006

It turns out they're not all long gone! Someone named Ivy left me a comment for my previous post, saying she had the same little crocheted dog, and also remembered little girls in outfits with hoods. So here she is, I bought her at the same time as the animals.
It was hard to take her picture because she kept toppling over, but as you can see she has the loop at the top and is meant to hang as an ornament. The fabric she's sitting on was a Goodwill find, and I'm thinking of lining the green acorn bag with it, if there's enough.

These little creatures you're showing are so cute! I'm learning to crochet this week, hope I'll be able to turn out something like that. I really like that fabric, looks like its got all the colors of green that make me happy right now. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

That is so sweet - and I love the green acorn bag. That fabric would be perfect for a lining.

I had little crocheted people when I was a kid! I think my sister and I had three or four of them, but I have no idea where they came from or where they are now. I'd forgotten about them until I saw your post. Thank you for the childhood flashback :)

Thanks for coming by my blog and telling me about you little girl. She's so sweet! Made me misty eyed remembering when my mom got ours. Hong Kong was my favorite place we lived when I was a kid.

If I ever get my camera fixed, I'll post pics of my dog and little elephant.

Hello Claire!
I was wondering, how tall is she? She's so adorable!! I saw her on flickr, I half remember toys like that as a child ... I wanted to try to make something like her, and the size would help me get the proportions right (I hope). Thanks!

Hi - wow- I had that exact same doll when I was a child. My sister still has one that she kept. We adored them and played with them all the time in the 1970's!

I had one of these little crocheted dolls when I was about 6 years old. I thought they were Chinese. I'm so glad to see these pictures, I will crochet one for myself. Any idea where I can get a face from? Otherwise I'll just crochet that also, but it wouldn't look so pretty.
