Etsy now has the option to create coupon codes, so I decided to give it a try. I've been meaning to try it ever since I heard about it in one of the Etsy tips for sellers emails. It turned out to be really easy. Just for January, use the code JANUARY20 to get 20% off everything in the Needle Book shop!

I think that's a good discount as I usually try to price things as affordably as possible in the first place. But I know shoppers need to be tempted once the holidays are over. I'm the same way.

There are lots of wristlets in there now, the needle books I showed in my last post, and some of the larger sweethaven bags. Trust me, that blue-green floral messenger-style version of the sweethaven is really nice, I wanted to keep it myself!

Crafternoon Tea - You're invited!

I was thrilled to be chosen for Crafternoon Tea this year. It's a Leslieville craft show that I've visited a few times and I've always loved the warm friendly vibe and amazing mix of talent.

Zippered wristlets!

I've finally figured out how to adapt my wristlets to include a zipper. A couple of people have told me they wished my wristlets had zippers at craft shows and I thought it was a good idea too (see? I do listen to you!).

I just had to figure out how to add the zipper with the front flap there as well. I have a few ready now and I've started putting them in my shop. I love the pink and purple floral fabric on this one. Have a look!

New items in my shop!

There are lots of new things in my shop now...

I just needed to get started with updating it again. I had some new wristlets ready, particularly two in one of my favourite barkcloth prints, a painting by Grandma Moses. The bits I've picked are snowy woods, one of them with a little cottage:

The blue needlebook is the last one of that batch and I'll make some new ones soon in a different set of colours:

City of Craft - sneak preview

This week is all about preparing for City of Craft. The dining table is now covered with new creations! These are my favourite new items, embellished wristlets with a snap closure (covered by a button) and a wrist strap with extra little fabric detail.
Everything I make is mostly created from rescued craft supplies: fabric from thrift stores, yard sales, fabric shop remnants and discontinued fabric swatch booklets combined with lace, ribbon, buttons and trim from flea markets, second hand sales and swaps. These rescued materials are combined with special bits of fabric from lovely shops on etsy and from local craft havens such as the workroom.
Having so many odds and ends of fabric in my stash is so handy when I'm creating new items like this. I can mix and match prints and solids then find the perfect bit of trim to add the finishing touch.
I like using upholstery weight fabric for my bags so that they have a nice structure to them without having to use interfacing.
